During the meeting, the director of the Department for the Prevention and Detection of Corruption of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, Serhii Stepanian, and representatives of NAKO discussed promising directions for the implementation of capabilities in identifying corruption risks in the leading areas of activity of the Ministry of Defence under martial law.
The participants of the meeting focused in detail on the issues of defence procurement, management of land and non-core assets of the Ministry of Defence, rear, medical and housing provision, implementation of international assistance in the field of security, development of anti-corruption programs, provision of support and cooperation with the international non-governmental organization Transparency International Ukraine, organization of public discussions on Index of Integrity in defence governance for the Ministry of Defence, etc.
The representatives of the Ministry of Defence outlined clear prospects for further productive cooperation with NAKO experts to fulfill the tasks and measures of the State Anti-Corruption Program for 2023-2025, the Anti-Corruption Program of the Ministry of Defence, and further strengthen the system of prevention and detection of corruption in the Ministry of Defence.
NAKO assured comprehensive support and implementation of tasks and measures in building integrity, achieving zero tolerance for corruption in the Ministry of Defence, which are determined by the Minister of Defence of Ukraine and are based on NATO standards and international requirements.
