Nearly 20 military attachés from the EU, the USA, and Canada attended the event, along with delegates from nine embassies and NATO’s chief representative in Ukraine, Patrick Turner. The event was moderated by Hanna Hopko, Chair of the National Interests Protection Network “ANTS” and a former member of the Verkhovna Rada.
According to NAKO’s Executive Director, Olena Tregub, the “Defence Talks” format was created to foster regular meetings between changemakers from the government and civil society with representatives of the diplomatic corps. The aim is to build more trusting relationships between Ukraine and its partners, focusing on integrity in the security and defense sectors. Additionally, it seeks to strengthen Ukraine’s ties with the Euro-Atlantic community, where the country aspires to integrate.
