“At this very moment, citizens of Ukraine are dying from North Korean weapons.”
Olena also added: “Russia is causing material and non-material damage to North Korea in exchange for these shells.” It is also dangerous for Korea because these weapons are used to support the conflict.
“We received 21 pieces of evidence that North Korea supplied Russia with 60 North Korean Iskanders,” Andrii Martynovych, a former colonel and deputy chief of the main department of military cooperation and peacekeeping operations of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, emphasized.
As a reminder, in the context of cooperation between NAKO and ICUV (International Center for Ukrainian Victory), the executive director of NAKO, Olena Tregub visited Seoul together with other members of the ICUV delegation – Viktoria Voytsytska, Daria Kaleniuk, and Andriy Martynovych. During the week, they met with South Korean politicians, diplomats, and experts and gave comments to leading TV channels and publications about the current situation in Ukraine.
Martynovych also stated: “When Russia attacked the Kharkiv region of Ukraine in February of this year, a short-range KN-23 missile called “Swing” was used, and added that North Korea delivered up to 60 such missiles and seven launchers to Russia.
Martynovych said that the Ukrainian prosecutor’s office has 21 pieces of evidence of the supply of these missiles. He emphasized the destructive power of these missiles during attacks on Ukrainian settlements.
The interviewees said that since last July, North Korea has provided between 2.3 and 3 million shells to Russia and emphasized that North Korea’s millions of artillery shells have become a huge help to Russia while creating difficulties for Ukraine.
“Since July last year, North Korea has been exporting artillery shells to Russia, which were used to shell Ukraine in September and October last year.”
“Russian airstrikes destroyed almost 70% of Ukraine’s energy facilities,” says Olena Tregub.
Also, Olena spoke about the war-ravaged capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, where students are forced to interrupt their studies and hide during air raids. She noted that almost 70% of Ukraine’s energy facilities were destroyed due to Russian airstrikes, complicating the supply of electricity. When temperatures drop to -20°C, Ukraine is focused on importing electricity and restoring energy facilities to survive the winter.
Tregub emphasized that Ukraine is focused on the destruction of Russian military equipment, not on attacking Russia, and stresses the importance of supporting the Ukrainian people. Olena Tregub thanked the Korean government for humanitarian support and hoped for joint work to maintain peace.
