BITEC Initiative: NAKO Analyst Gave a Lecture on Corruption Risks in Defence Procurement
15 June 2018 NAKO Senior Analyst Dmytro Khutkyy lectured at the Chernyakhovsky National University of Defence of Ukraine. Khutkyy explained the role of NGOs as well as NAKO’s goals and advocacy aimed at reducing corruption risks in the defence sector of Ukraine.

He also spoke about NAKO’s new research on corruption risks in defence procurement which will be made public soon. He indicated 6 red flags with remarkable examples which indicate corruptive risks in tendering process in defence and security sector. The lectures are given in the framework of the BITEC initiative, where NAKO is a partner. With the help of the BITEC (Building Integrity Training and Education Centre) initiative, NAKO contributes to change in Ukraine's defence sector. The goal of the BITEC Initiative is to deliver integrity building courses for security sector personnel and to teach investigatory techniques related to corruption. As a part of this initiative, NAKO has already provided a series of lectures to Ukrainian servicemen and servicewomen in the defence sector.
