International Audit of UkrOboronProm: a Move towards Reforms
On August 14, 2018, NAKO together with US Embassy advisors took part in a meeting of the Ukroboronprom tender committee with potential tenderers to discuss the details of the future international audit of the state defence enterprise. The participants specified the terms of the tender documentation, which will reduce the risks for the tenderers and will also ensure compliance with the interests of the customer. The Committee urges Ukroboronprom to continue holding the tender process openly and transparently. The Independent Defence Anti-Corruption Committee (NAKO) supports the updated tender for the independent audit and strategic analysis of Ukroboronprom. NAKO views this process as an opportunity to identify cases of ineffective management, corruption risks and structural disadvantages at Ukroboronprom. Such an audit should be the first step towards solving these problems and building a state defence enterprise that meets the needs of the society and the Armed Forces.
