On April 17, NAKO experts partook in the roundtable of the National Security and Defence Council. They discussed the reforms of the defence and industrial complex and increasing the transparency of the State Defence Order (SDO). The Independent Denfence Anticorruption Committee was represented by Head of Content Dr. Lada Roslycky, Senior researcher Sergiy Moskaliuk and analyst Taras Yemchura.
NAKO experts presented their work in progress related to the further steps to reform the defence and industrial sector. For instrance, Taras Yemchura announced the NAKO’s research on corruption risks in the State Defence Order and called to work together to increase transparency and accountability in Ukraine’s defence sector. The research will be presented soon.
Also NAKOs representatives said that they are ready to join the work on the new bill announced by Sergiy Pashynsky. This bill, for example, should increase the SDO transparency.
Representatives of the National Security and Defence Council staff, the Verkhovna Rada’s Parliamentary Committee on national defence and security, the MoD, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, state defence enterprise Ukroboronprom, NATO office in Ukraine and the US Embassy in Ukraine partook in this roundtable.
