NAKO Enters into Cooperation with Parliamentary Committee for National Security
On Monday, 10 September, the Independent Defence Anti-Corruption Committee (NAKO) discussed the possible avenues of cooperation with selected MPs from the  Parliamentary Committee for national security, defence and intelligence. Deputy Head of the Committee Mariana Bezuhla, Commmittee's Secretary Roman Kostenko accompanied by his assistant Vasyl Potapenko, Ihor Kopytin, Yuriy Fedorenko and Serhii Zhuk joined the meeting with NAKOs team.

Mariana Bezuhla assured that the Committee would work to ensure transparency and integrity within Ukraine's defence and security sector. She also added that the MPs from the committee were ready for the effective dialogue with the civil society and NAKO in particular. Bezuhla suggested cooperation with the experts society in the format of a decision support system.

NAKO Co-Chair James Wasserstrom welcomed MPs desire to cooperate with the civil society and suggested support to reduce corruption risks within Ukraine's defence and security sector. He said that NAKO as a part of global anti-corruption organization Transparency International Defence and Security has necessary experience and support from international colleagues. He also thanked the MPs for their readiness to work hard for Ukraine's future. NAKO Secretary General Olena Tregub suggested organizing the training for MPs from the Committee on national security, defence and intelligence and the Committee on anti-corruption policy. MPs liked the idea. 

As a follow-up to this meeting, the Committee sent an official letter to NAKO Co-Chair Volodymyr Ohryzko suggesting to select the analysts to join the experts group which will support the committe's legislative activity.
