NAKO Launches Project to Reduce Corruption Risks in MoD Priority Areas
 
The Independent Defence Anti-Corruption Committee launched the project to develop solutions for reducing corruption risks in the Ministry of Defence (MoD) activity in 5 priority areas:
  • public and defence procurement,
  • MoD land management,
  • management of the state property which belongs to MoD state enterprises,
  • сonstruction of housing facilities and providing defence housing,
  • fuel use.
Under this project 5 specialized working groups have been launched, each of them has NAKO expert as a participant. Within the next two months the following will be done based on the results of the groups:
  • systemic violations will be defined,
  • solutions projects will be developed to eliminate conditions for corruption,
  • several alternatives of such decisions will be suggested,
  • violations of the law and policies will be identified,
  • road maps to eliminate conditions for corruption in 5 priotity areas will be developed.
The project is implemented with the financial support of the European Union Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI).
