Call for Members of the NAKO Executive Board
The Independent Defence Anti-Corruption Committee (NAKO) is seeking new members of its Executive Board. We are looking for people who are strongly committed to fighting corruption in Ukraine’s defence and security sector and to promoting integrity and good governance to achieve this. This is an opportunity to join the Board of Ukraine’s leading anti-corruption NGO in defence sector and provide strategic direction and guidance, supporting our work on anti-corruption in Ukraine. Members of the Board are not paid, but travel and other expenses can be reimbursed. The Board reviews and endorses the organization’s focus areas, annual budget and operational plan, monitors its finances and takes active part in fundraising. It's term of service is two years. Full information on the powers and obligations of the Board are set forth in the Charter of the organization. In light of the organisation’s strategy and operations, we are particularly looking for people with anticorruption expertise and experience of defence and security organisations; fundraising and communications; corporate governance standards. We would also welcome applications from people with experience of co-ordinating limited resources to maximise and measure the impact we have. Prospective members of the Executive Board should be able to demonstrate that they:
  • Have over 10 years of managerial experience in the government, business or international non-governmental sector
  • Are motivated to contribute to NAKO’s work
  • Understand corporate governance and the role of boards and of charity trustees
  • Have experience of contributing to the strategic direction of organisations
  • Are willing to provide support to the work of NAKO and are able to commit time to fulfil their Board responsibilities 
  • Appreciate that this is a voluntary, unpaid position NAKO welcomes diversity of experience, background, knowledge, expertise, contribution and perspective.
