On July 11, NAKO analyst Taras Yemchura partook in the public discussion with participants of the top-rated parties where the following topics were debated: defence sector reform, Ukraine’s European integration path and reintegration of Crimea and Donbas.
Political parties Sluha Narodu, European Solidarity, Batkivshyna, Holos and Ukrainska Stratehia joined the discussion. Almost all representatives of political parties supported the need for Ukroboronprom’s international audit and its de-monopolization. Anna Kovalenko who is the representative of Sluha Narodu thinks that the military industrial complex has a potential to improve Ukraine’s economy. Whereas the representative of Holos party Dmytro Romanovych suggested reducing the overall scope of classified information. He said that ‘now even the city plans are classified, although they have been long time available in Google maps, as well as the number of tanks – this it the information that you can find in Ukraine’s international reports’.
Also all present parties stated that Ukraine should move towards membership in the EU and NATO. The discussion was organized by the Reanimation Package of Reforms in cooperation with Vyborcha Rada UA.
