NAKO 13 Quarterly: Committee Discussed Reforms with Ukraine’s Top Officials
9 – 11 September 2019 NAKO’s 13 Quarterly Meeting took place in Kyiv. Traditionally, the Quarterly was joined by Transparency International Defence and Security Program: TI DS Director Steve Francis and TI DS Program Manager – Europe Karolina MacLachlan.

Together, they approved the public presentation of the recent report on Reforming the State Defence Order, discussed the results of the Parliamentary Pledge project and confirmed short- and long-term research and advocacy goals for NAKO. The number of meetings took place within the framework of the Committee’s quarterly assembly.

NAKO members met with the newly appointed Minister for Economy, Trade and Agriculture, Tymofiy Mylovanov, and members of his team. The Committee shared with Mr. Mylovanov its report on Reforming the System of the SDO. All the participants stressed the importance of cooperation wit the aim of lowering the levels of defence corruption. The Committee also met with the Director General of state defence enterprise Ukroboronprom, Aivaras Abromavicius, and agreed to support UoP on its way towards corporate governance in accordance to OECD standards.
