In response to the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, NAKO has joined the collective efforts to weaken the Russian war machine. Our organization mainly focused on sanctions against the Russian defence industry and the supply of critical components used to produce weapons and equipment used by the Russian Army.
In September 2022, NAKO provided the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NACP) with information about 69 Russian companies related to the production of military equipment destroyed or captured in Ukraine. Further on, 27 Russian arms manufacturers submitted by NAKO were included in the 9th package of sanctions by the European Commission. Particularly:
In September 2022, NAKO provided the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NACP) with information about 69 Russian companies related to the production of military equipment destroyed or captured in Ukraine. Further on, 27 Russian arms manufacturers submitted by NAKO were included in the 9th package of sanctions by the European Commission. Particularly:
- NPO “Novator”;
- Central research institute “Burevestnik’;
- Bryansk Automobile Plant;
- Automobile Plant “Ural”;
- Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant
- and others.
These companies were included in the lists of legal entities under export restrictions and prohibited from making funds or other economic resources (directly or indirectly).
Further, NAKO proposed to include 13 more Russian SOEs in the 10th package of sanctions. The list consists of drone manufacturers, producers of armour machines, launch missile systems, etc. This submission was agreed on with the representatives of The Directorate‑General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union (DG FISMA). Two companies from NAKO’s list (“Commercial Vehicles – GAZ Group” and “United Machine-Building Group”) were included in the EU 10th package of sanctions.
