On 6 March 2025, NAKO Executive Director Olena Tregub took part in a meeting of the Supervisory Board of the EU's Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine (EUACI) in Kyiv. The meeting was attended by EUACI partners — representatives of state and local authorities, international partners, NGOs and the media.
The meeting was dedicated to discussing Ukraine's achievements in the fight against corruption and key challenges in the context of Russia's full-scale invasion. In particular, participants noted the increased capacity of anti-corruption institutions such as NABU, SAPO and High Anti-Corruption Court. The development of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy and Programme for 2026-2030, on which the NACP is working, was identified as a priority in this area.
For their part, EUACI representatives explained how the initiative is supporting Ukraine's reconstruction. For example, EUACI is helping to improve the public procurement system of the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, implementing best practice pilot projects in Mykolaiv, and supporting the establishment of supervisory boards in selected municipal enterprises.
At the local level, EUACI is currently working with five cities to implement anti-corruption practices, including improved procurement procedures, financial control and audit. The work is part of the Integrity Cities project, which includes Zhytomyr, Mariupol, Nikopol, Chervonohrad, Chernivtsi and Mykolaiv, and will be extended to eastern Ukraine.
