Representatives of the Independent Anti-Corruption Commission (NAKO) will take part in the preliminary selection of candidates for the head of the State Space Agency of Ukraine.
The specialised commission includes representatives of the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence, and the National Agency for Civil Service of Ukraine.
In addition to NAKO, the working group will include other anti-corruption NGOs, the US, UK and German embassies, and the EU delegation to Ukraine.
The State Space Agency is responsible for implementing Ukraine's space programme, which primarily includes space activities in the interest of national security and defence. This includes, for example, the use of communications and remote sensing satellites. In addition, the agency coordinates the activities of dozens of space industry enterprises, including design bureaus, machine and instrument companies, research centres, etc. On 10 December 2024, Volodymyr Mikheiev became the acting head of the State Space Agency.
