The Independent Defence Anti-Corruption Committee (NAKO) signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the National Institute for Strategic Studies. On behalf of NAKO, the document was signed by Co-Chair Volodymyr Ohryzko, on behalf of NISS – by Director Olexander Lytvynenko. According to this document, NAKO promises to:
- analyze corruption risks within Ukraine’s defence and security sector and suggests ways to tackle those problems;
- assist to develop and implement anti-corruption policies
- consult on preventing corruption.
Meanwhile, NISS promises to:
- address NAKO with requests for expertise and consultations
- assist in recieving information within NAKOs mandate.
NAKO team hopes that signing the Memorandum will help effectively tackle corruption in Ukraine’s defence and security sector.
