In September 2025, a ten-day trip took place under the Open World program established by the U.S. Congress. The program serves as a platform for sharing experience with American colleagues in the field of anti-corruption. NAKO Senior Researcher Viktoriia Vyshnivska joined the Ukrainian delegation alongside representatives of the Ministry of Defence, the National Agency on Corruption Prevention, the High Anti-Corruption Court, and civil society.

“The U.S. has a long history of successfully developing a robust system of checks and balances. Our path is different: We build our own system in the most challenging times and under heavy resistance – internal and external. Yet Ukrainians rarely feel how far we have actually come. Unfortunately, we only see the numerous challenges lying ahead of us, which seem to be never-ending. A third-person look helps to recalibrate the optics sometimes,” noted Viktoria Vyshnivska. According to her, American partners highly valued Ukraine’s achievements in fighting corruption during the full-scale war.
As part of the visit, the Ukrainian delegation held a number of meetings at the U.S. Department of State, with U.S. Congressmen Eugene Vindman and Mike Quigley, as well as with representatives of non-governmental institutions and initiatives, including the Atlantic Council, Hudson Institute, Brookings Institution, and others.
