Russia's war against Ukraine cannot be compared with other armed conflicts that are ongoing in the world. Russia seeks to destroy an entirely independent country and is at war against its civilian population and the entire nation. And it poses a threat not only to the European continent but also to the whole world.

This belief was expressed by the executive director of NAKO, Olena Tregub, during the international forum on peace and development in Stockholm. Representatives of international organizations, researchers, and public activists from all over the world gathered at the forum.

They discussed armed conflicts, issues of ecology, and the effectiveness of existing international organizations. And although the topic of Ukraine appeared in many uniform panels, the Russian war against Ukraine was often compared to African armed conflicts, creating the impression that the international community does not have a full idea of its scale and global impact on world order and security. According to the executive director of NAKO, information about what is happening in Ukraine does not reach all parts of the world. And the countries of the global south perceive events in very distorted realities. Olena Tregub emphasized that the global community should unite to stop Russian aggression. Otherwise, the danger continues for everyone.

The fight against Russian disinformation worldwide is also the collective responsibility of all democratic countries that condemn Russian aggression. She spoke about the reforms of Ukraine's security and defence sector, the transformational path of Ukraine since the time of the Revolution of Dignity, and how Ukraine was able to withstand the unprecedented Russian aggression.

Organize the forum at Stockholm International Peace Research Institute. Since 1966, this independent international institute has researched conflicts, armaments, arms control and disarmament. SIPRI provides open-source data, analysis, and recommendations to policymakers, researchers, the media, and the public. It is one of the most authoritative think tanks in the world.
