On 26–27 April 2026, the conference “On the Road to the URC. Security and Defence Dimension” took place in Rzeszów, Poland. The event served as a preparatory step ahead of the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026, scheduled for 25–26 June in Gdańsk.
NAKO Executive Director Olena Tregub attended the event. According to her, the conference focused exclusively on security and defence, including technological innovation, joint ventures, and the Build with Ukraine and Build in Ukraine initiatives.
Tregub noted that participants approached the defence sector in a broader way than usual: “The discussion already includes cognitive warfare, the role of civil society, and anti-corruption.” In her view, such a comprehensive approach to defence strengthens both Ukraine and Europe.
The conference was opened by Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk and Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko. Among the participants were Serhii Boiev, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, and Oleksandr Kamyshin, Advisor to the President of Ukraine on strategic issues.

At the exhibition held alongside the conference, 45 Ukrainian companies showcased their capabilities in the defence industry — from drones and air defence systems to cybersecurity solutions.
