Particular emphasis in the sanctions package is placed on strengthening export controls and limiting access of the Russian military-industrial complex to critical components of foreign production. Companies from the EU are obliged to include in their contracts a ban on the re-export to Russia of particularly sensitive goods and technologies, including those that are used in Russian military systems found on the battlefield in Ukraine and which are critical to the development, production or use of such Russian military systems, aircraft equipment, and weapons.

This is also a solution to expand the list of prohibited goods that can be used for the technological development of the Russian defense and security sector. This list includes chemicals, lithium batteries, thermostats, electric and servo motors for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), machine tools, and spare parts.

NAKO, together with partners, investigated components of foreign origin in Russian-made arms and "shaheds" that were used by Russia for attacks on the civilian population and infrastructure of Ukraine.

Among our recommendations were the improvement of export controls and increased sanctions pressure.

In addition, sanctions were applied to companies directly involved in or supporting the Russian military-industrial complex in waging an aggressive war against Ukraine.

We will remind you that last year 27 Russian arms manufacturers submitted to NAKO and were included in the 9th package of sanctions of the European Commission, and two more companies were included in the 10th.
