NAKO and Global Diligence called on the European Commission to influence 18 Russian companies that play a key role in producing, maintaining, and procuring critical components for the Russian military industry or help the Russian Federation to circumvent sanctions. The United States has already applied its restrictions to these companies, some under sanctions in Ukraine and Switzerland.
All 18 are Russian enterprises that produce, maintain, and/or procure important weapons and other military equipment.
In September 2022, NAKO submitted lists for consideration by the European Commission. Then, 27 Russian arms manufacturers were included in the 9th package of sanctions out of 69 Russian companies proposed to the European Commission. And 2 more state-owned enterprises – hit to the 10th.
The European Union is preparing to make the 12th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation public. This was reported by the representative of the EU, who announced even more restrictions on individuals and companies. But the most important thing is that they will introduce new measures against the circumvention of previously submitted sanctions.
