On 13 October 2025, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed participants of the 71st Annual Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. Among other points, he called on Alliance member states to strengthen sanctions against Russia and increase pressure on Western companies that continue to supply critical components to Russia’s military-industrial complex.
“This is not only China and Taiwan – some components still come from European countries, and from others around the world who still cooperate with Russia’s manufacturers of death. Our team can provide all the facts, and we are ready to share any information you need. Please take this up in your governments,” Zelenskyy said.
The President emphasized that this effort is not only crucial for protecting Ukrainians from Russian missiles and drones but also for strengthening global security. “You spare your leaders from having to do what I do – appeal to the world for help if Russian drones, missiles, and soldiers become a threat to you. Russia must lose,” he added.
According to the Office of the President of Ukraine, in September 2025 Russia launched 7,313 drones and 270 missiles against Ukraine — all containing a total of 676,000 foreign components.
This data is consistent with research by the Independent Anti-Corruption Commission (NAKO). According to NAKO’s report on Russian glide bombs, 71% of the microelectronics in the planning and correction module (UMPK) — the core part of the glide bomb responsible for its guidance — originates from Western manufacturers.
