Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation, part of the state-owned Rostec conglomerate, announced that it has produced and delivered a new batch of Su-35S multirole fighter jets to the Russian military. In total, the corporation delivered between 15 and 18 Su-35S aircraft this year, compared to 15 last year. Rostec has already stated that 2025 has been a “record year for combat aircraft production” and that the production plan has been “fully fulfilled.”
The continued production and delivery of Su-35S jets call into question the effectiveness of Western sanctions, given the presence of foreign-made electronics in the aircraft, KyivPost reports, citing a joint report by the International Partnership for Human Rights (IPHR) and the Independent Anti-Corruption Commission (NAKO). The report traced the origin of 1,115 out of 1,119 identified foreign electronic components found in Su-34 and Su-35S aircraft. The supply chains led to 141 companies worldwide, most of them based in the United States, with others located in Germany, Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea.
