On 21 January 2026, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dismissed five deputy ministers of defence:
- Brigadier General Anatolii Klochko;
- Oleksandr Kozenko, who oversaw the development of aviation capabilities;
- Colonel Volodymyr Zaverukha and Hanna Hvozdiar, who transferred from the now-dissolved Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine;
- Lieutenant General Mykola Shevtsov.
According to Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, some of them will continue working with the Ministry of Defence in other capacities, including as advisers or heads of project offices.
Currently remaining in office are First Deputy Minister of Defence Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk, as well as Deputy Ministers Yevhen Moisiuk, Yurii Myronenko, Serhii Boiev, and Oksana Ferchuk. At the same time, Fedorov announced that new members of the team would be appointed in the coming weeks. “This is a step toward renewing the ministry in order to fulfil the President’s task — to build a system capable of stopping the enemy in the air, halting its advance on the ground, and strengthening asymmetric and cyber strikes against the enemy and its economy,” he said.
