Europeans began to forget that the war in Ukraine was not "somewhere far away" but inside Europe. NAKO Executive Director Olena Tregub is convinced of this. Olena made these conclusions after participating in "Basel Peace Forum."
Before that, she participated in the Paris Peace Forum and was a speaker at a forum in Warsaw, The discussion of the war in Ukraine takes place in the context of "one of the many conflicts on our planet."
The head of the anti-corruption commission also told how Russia influences Europe's "strategic corruption."
"With its actions, Russia weakens democratic societies, creates economic dependencies, and corrupts foreign politicians to promote its dominance and enable military aggression. If Russia's "strategic corruption" had not been successful against the West, it would hardly have dared to go to war against Ukraine,” says Olena Tregub.
In her opinion, Europeans should study Russia's influence much more thoroughly than before. And to understand that the Europeans are already at war with the Russians, although not openly.
Europe, particularly Switzerland, needs to understand the scale of the danger. Although they avoid justifying Putin and do not call on Kyiv to "make peace," behind the Basel Peace Forum scenes were proposals to end the war with the "federalization of Ukraine," says Olena.
Switzerland is one of the largest suppliers of critical components of Russian weapons. And the country refused to search for Russian assets with the international community.
