International Advocacy
In response to the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, NAKO has readjusted its activity according to the challenges the county is facing and the opportunities for assistance the team can offer. Thus, NAKO’s key motivation is to help Ukraine win the war via the promotion of Ukraine’s interest in the international arena within the area of our initial competence and mandate.
The international reaction to the full-scale invasion proved the lack of essential knowledge about Ukraine, its current levels of corruption and the domestic political situation in general. It highlighted not only a severe gap of global expertise about Ukraine, which resulted in uncertainty and indecisiveness in terms of policies, but it also created a fruitful soil for numerous manipulations and superficial reporting these policies are partly based on.
Our efforts in this area are focused on the advocacy of financial aid for Ukraine, countering manipulative Russian narratives about corruption in Ukraine, and promotion of strengthening anti-Russian sanctions and additional measures needed to weaken the Russian regime.
